Except that the Cirrus probably has like 40 horsepower. More than that, obviously, but when I knew anything about the Cirrus years ago, it was underpowered and slow.

Here’s some flat-six for you... Make sure you’ve got the sound turned on...
And he greases it, with a

310 hp, cruises at 211 tops out at 235. Not setting the world on fire but not bad for a four passenger single prop.

This was some years back, and a two-seater, and water cooled, and a carbon fiber wing spar that wasn’t airworthy if it got above a certain temperature. I guess once it cooled back down, it would be okay, but parked in Texas in the sun... I wanna say that two-seater had 70 horsepower. The specs you give are quite respectable, says I.

It’s also a fairly luxurious little craft (comparatively speaking) , and they come standard with ballistic airframe parachutes that will safely parachutes the entire aircraft to the ground in an emergency.

You know, for many, many years I imagined myself as the pilot who never was. Now? At 54, I’m beyond that. I was a bit surprised to discover it earlier this year, but I’ve moved on, not that I don’t still find aviation intensely fascinating.

Code brown. I love aviation, but I really can’t enjoy air races. And that P-51 crash a few years back was the nail in the coffin. But I love hearing that Nemesis engine running away...
